After spending 8 days away from home, Tokyo and Los Angeles being the grounds I sojourned, I am glad to be back in the arms of my mother and her hot strawberry tea. Mother, I want Laksa next!

Bank account is beaming with pride too. Spending only half a k was an achievement bro. Heck, even I am proud of myself. Shopping consisted of all-things-new and a pair of blisters, not a pretty sight one can see. Still, amazing that I didn’t go bonkers this time round. Spent it to a minimal. Me smile coz me proud of me self. Right.

On the contrary, Ferdie’s expression mirrored that of a disapproving grouchy old man. Ah, he’ll get used to it. He always does anyway. He has accepted his fate when he learnt of such peccadilloes, those of his girlfriend. Kheh.

*shakes head in mockery of Ferdie’s reaction then runs to him to give him a sayang hug*

The highlight of my trip this time is not LA but Tokyo. Besides my overdose of strawberry shortcakes (incredible stuff, this thing), time there was well-spent.

My colleagues and I paid a visit to their club (and trust me on this one), it was the best I’ve ever been to! I am not exaggerating y’all! I believe all ten of us had a blast, some more than others evidently.

Every one of them Japanese donned on different types of clothing and they danced like there was no tomorrow. I must say though, the boys were of better dancers than the babes. The music was a whole shit better than Singapore and Hip-hop’s up to another level altogether.

Because my colleague had connections there, we managed to get in. Only those in the guest list were allowed entrance you see. Urgh, I wish I could show you photos but the bouncer action lah, asked me to keep my camera in the locker. Pardon my description with no pictures k.

The club consisted of two levels and I had assumed the first of the two was more happening for it had a bigger dancefloor. Ah, that was not to be.

We ventured to the second floor and it took my breath away. Despite the room being smaller, it was more personalized. And this DJ rapped and another spinned. And everyone was dancing in a synchronized move, just like She’s All That and Step Up 2 movie. Cooooool.

And I managed to learn a few steps myself. It was that great I tell ya! To boot, they remixed Reggae. The music was awesome!!! Listen, my exclamation marks may seem understated but really, it was da bomb! (To say the least)

It was so sweet how all of us were so into taking care of each other. I got drunk first because of the tequila shot so my lovely colleagues made sure I behaved. Bless them Cheryl, Diana and Ee Lin. I danced my high-ness away and forced myself to vomit. Eventually I was a lil more sober and then it was my turn to “jaga” Diana. Who would’ve thought I was capable of doing so. Heheh….

We made sure we went back to the hotel unscathed. What, when I had a Japanese “stalker” in the club. I wanna gag just recalling. Also, we had to fly back to Singapore that same day so we tried to dodge a hangover at all course.

Memorable, probably not all sweet, and a great bunch at best. I am no whiner this time.

Oh, I finally know how Botox felt like. No, don’t be so quick to judge just yet, I did no such thing. Though who knows lah kan…….

Hurhur… Any-o-how, the weather was too cold that day. A pity I didn’t get a sneak peak of Mount Fuji, let alone paying it a visit. My face was too numb from the dreary winter that I couldn’t smile nor frown. Like Botox bah. If my saliva were to drool, I bet even it would freeze. Blastedly of all blasts, snow didn’t come tumbling down. Though I heard it snowed near Mount Fuji. Gah!

Overall I had a great time with my fellow colleagues and I wish they were in all my flights. Birds of a feather fly together would be a great literal proverb to use for this.

Ok, so since my first attempt in putting up a video has succeeded, I have decided to be more IT savvy.That shall be my new year’s resolution. Ambitious lah but I’m sure it can be done. Hurhur…

I used to think 365 was too big a number to make up a year. I once wished I was 21 every other birthday. I prayed to meet and marry THE ONE before I hit the big-3O.  Maybe pure ignorance has damaged my ability to draw logical inferences? Come on, get married?

My approach has now changed. Wiser I am not but I do anticipate growing old, with or without someone, it’s anyone’s prayers. I know fate has chosen a path for me and now I am absolutely ready to embrace life’s challenges. In time, I’ll be accepting even.

Having said that, looking back at 2008, I have to say, I was glad it came and it went. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. I survived through it all and look here, 2009 had invited me with open arms, or so I’d like to think.

An elaboration will not serve me much justice at this point because my blog is, in a way, living proof of my life events.

Therefore this year I’ve decided to stick to fasyalba.wordpress. And continue penning on this blog instead of creating a new account. Aha, of course, partly because being a computer idiot that I am, I can be nothing but.

Back, owning a perfect life doesn’t come close to the mark but the significant people that have come to reside in this small heart of mine are comfortably there still. I’d like to think that they’re my bed of roses. Indeed indeed.

I learn that friends can easily be forgotten but the forgotten can be easily rekindled. The ones that deserve to stay, stay and the ones that don’t, well don’t. I’ve invested too much time dwelling so to ungrateful beings, shame on you. My sincerity down to naught I dare to say. Quietly leave to the nearest exit, you. Your presence is no more needed.

Let’s see you put your money where your mouth is. To say…

I never believe in resolutions but seeing that I sincerely wish for a new beginning, I suppose sharing some here would motivate me, if not a lot, at least a tad.

Ah bugger, thinking of a new resolution list is like asking for the sky. I can’t think of one. Never could.

But I do know that I have found happiness. That is what matters most. Sod resolutions. Si?

Family and surprise surprise… Mr Sailorman himself. He sure rendered me speechless, without fail. This shall be our year my love. Have faith in me.

Ah, perhaps before I end this entry, allow me to show you a passage written in someone’s new blog. Touched me, truly, parse that to a syllable.

My new resolution is be thankful for everything. Count my blessings everyday. Let it be tenfold.  So at least the one concerned knows that the effort is greatly appreciated.

2009, I am in love.

I just got back from Frankfurt. With a temperature of -2 degrees, frostbites are no joke. Thank heavens that didn’t happen. On the other hand, blastedly, snow didn’t wanna welcome me, said twas too cold to drop by. Bollocks.

All geared up, complete with fake leather gloves and earmuffs-cute black furry ones at that, I fought the cold. Even my small bladder didn’t hamper me from doing the justly. Pee in the pants for all I care, I was one determined lady.

I paid a visit to their town. Bought my sister-in-law a Longchamp bag for… fun, really. Yes, the things I do for love. -_-

But hey, let’s focus here. The exciting part of this trip was I splurged! To no surprise, I got me another black bag. I can imagine that Sailorman shaking his head.  *glances quickly and guiltily at Ferdie*

And since I MUST find a reason to get a bag, (I can’t use being-a-female as an excuse again), I jolly well think I nailed it this time. Hurhur….

See Ferdie, Frankfurt’s the last country I’d visit for the year 2008. So why not end it with a bang. Kan? Hence, I got me a new obsession. Come see!

Hohoho….

Merry Christmas.

The 4th of December saw me flying from Singapore to Abu Dhabi. Oh, and a short turnaround trip to Jeddah, some days later. Eight days away from home proved an easy feat with good company around. Lil me no complain.

This was the view outside my hotel room. Beautiful. Ain’t no other words to use.

The second day: I called my cousin Ayu up for lunch and to show me around the city. She brought along Filzah and another colleague of hers. Oh, Cuz Ayu is staying in Abu Dhabi. What to do, she works for Etihad.

Lunch at the mall and an hour later had us heading towards the Heritage Place-or whatever you call it. Kheh.

This, Victoria, was a performance by some Arab guys dancing their traditional dance. Funny.

After sometime, we made our way to Intercontinental Hotel to chill out at the bar. Caught fireworks from a distance.

This is random but a nice toilet, don’t you think? Ok, next.

Because Cuz Ayu had to head back early (her Frankfurt flight was in the morning) Filzah brought me to Emirate’s Palace for some dancing. Clubbing there was awesome.

This is Ahmed. He is, by far, the best dancer I’ve ever danced with. He taught me how to groove to Salsa. Sexy y’all!

The next day:Hari Raya Haji.

Contradicting one must admit. Early morning got myself ready to go to the mosque for Hari Raya prayers. Thanks to Aishah, my colleague for asking me along. And thanks to Natassja, her girlfriend who went along to this trip, for the robe and scarf. They definitely proved to be fun company, as you can see from the pictures below.

Unfortunately, our good intention was cut short. We woke up a tad too late, hence we missed our chance to be among the saints. Dang! And we didn’t get to catch the slaughtering of the animals coz the mosque was closed for a few hours. Boo….

Nat didn’t wear like us coz I was wearing her clothes. She had Bloody Mary sojourning for a week. This was, by the way, our best saintly pose. So sad we didn’t get to visit the 3rd largest mosque in the world, let alone praying there.

Instead we had breakfast buffet in the hotel. Hurhur….

In the afternoon, we geared up to go Al-Ain city to visit their theme park. Little did we know upon reaching there that the place was actually in Dubai. We were in shock that the 2-hour journey brought us all the way there. We had no clue. Crazy!

And and and it was a disappointment when we found out the theme park was a pathetic piece of crap. I nearly burst my bladder throughout the journey only to find out it was not worth going lah. Gah!

The Indian guy beside me was a perv. Shall not say more.

A story I had to add on. When we were queueing for one of the rides, some Minah Arab tried to pick a fight with us, tested our patience no less. Well, the story was  a bunch of Minah Arabs apparently wanted to cut the queue. The nerve. So they deliberately pushed us from behind. Then one of them tapped me on the shoulders.

Minah Arab: Excuse me. We want to pass through.
Me: Are you trying to cut the queue?
Minah Arab: Ya?
Me: Helloooo…. CAN’T YOU SEE? WE’RE QUEUEING TOO!
Minah Arab: &*#%#*())
Me: Whateverr…..
Then I ’jeling’ at them and raised my chin in defiance. I tarik their tudung then they know. They have not seen a Singaporean Minah fight agaknye.

Hah. Like real.

The day after…..

The vietnamese food was delici-oh-us. Yums.

Oh, another funny thing happened.

We walked pass a shop when out of nowhere a salesman said…

Salesman: Hello, how are you?
Us: Fine, thank you.
Salesman: What?

*chuckles*

Can someone teach him how to talk English before attempting a conversation with us? Damn funny lah.

This was my first attempt on becoming a Makcik buying kain. A sight you don’t see often.  I bargained ok!

This is Mohammad, the owner of this shop. And who brought us to Hilton Hotel for some chilling session.

Aishah insisted to take a snap of our new rings. -_- Mine is the twine around the finger. Cantik kan!

We head home a mere 2 hours later because Mohammad tried to be funny.

We ended up chillin in my room instead. Lagi best. Had ourselves Maggie and we played Scrabbles, courtesy of Yours Truly. Teeheehee….

The LAST DAY….

The pizza there were much more yummier! The thin crust and the generous amount of cheese…. Wah lan. Give me more please! Fat pun fat lah….

Now you know why I gained weight Vicky. I can never be stick thin like you. Pictures (and a few passerbys) witnessed me savoring my food in an unlady-like manner. Not only did I eat a fairly large portion of food like every hour, I sleep whenever the eye lids get droopy, after every meal, mind you. How like that?

But I am happy so I shall let my body take care of itself. I gave up eons ago.
